Our Parent Handbook is your guide to policies and procedures for GBPP. Each family will receive a copy with registration.



We know that parenting can be challenging.
We've compiled some local resources to help.
We pray that these resources will provide you the support you need to have happy, healthy children and families. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child - don’t be afraid to reach out for the support you need.
Bright Spot Network
Bright Spot Network provides young cancer survivors who are parents of small children with a safe space for individual and familial healing, recovery, and reconnection. They focus on young parents and guardians caring for young children at the time of diagnosis, including those diagnosed during pregnancy.
Chesapeake Public Library
CPL offers services including Story Time and events for families.
Chesapeake Public Schools
The official website for all public schools in the City of Chesapeake.
Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD)
CHKD parenting experts partner with parents and professionals throughout Hampton Roads by offering a variety of educational services.
Discovery Education
Offers a wide variety of free family resources that you can trust to provide high quality, relevant material for you and your children.
Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE)
FARE’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the health of individuals with food allergies, and to provide them hope through the promise of new treatments.
For Kids
Since 1988, ForKids has delivered individualized services designed to achieve stability for children and families. Their programs target Housing Stability, Economic Mobility, and Education.
Help and Emergency Response, Inc.
Help and Emergency Response, Inc. provides leadership, advocacy, and resources to survivors and communities affected by Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, Stalking, and Human Trafficking.
Military and Family Support Center
This agency provides a plethora of programs and services to support personal and family readiness for the demands of military life. Key resources include: deployment support, relocation assistance, confidential counseling, personal and family life education, employment assistance, and transitional assistance programs.
Minus 9 to 5
Minus 9 to 5 is a network of multi-disciplinary providers, hospitals, clinics, and advocates committed to creating an impact. On this site you will find out more about what challenges we face collectively, partnering groups committed to creating uniformed health care, and programs established to help mothers, babies, and families.
Rainbows for All Children, Hampton Roads
Dedicated to being the premier source of support for all youth as they navigate grief and heal from loss, whether from death, divorce, deployment, or other trauma.

Single & Parenting
This support group shares tips and parenting wisdom that will help you find rest, hope and encouragement.
Tidewater Pastoral Counseling
Dedicated to providing quality pastoral counseling and education to anyone regardless of age, race, faith perspective or socio-economic background. The staff are ordained or licensed clergy representing a wide variety of denominations, who have specialized training and certification through the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Many of the pastoral counselors on staff are licensed in Virginia as Professional Counselors (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Clinical Social Workers (LCSW).
